Ladies,
Ever wondered if you could save your own life wearing a life jacket? During this event, we will be doing the following to ensure you are wearing your life jacket correctly and to ensure the safety of those around you. We will do this at your own pace, which is the best part.
Useful information: African American People are the highest in accidently death every year. Kiddo's are at the top of that list.
In the event's first part, safety checks will be performed:
1. Making sure you've the right size lifejacket on.
2. Making sure all zippers and snaps are secure.
3. Making sure lifejackets are fit snugly not to tight.
4. Making sure your life jacket doesn't go above your ears, when pulled on.
5. Know why you shouldn't just put on any life jacket.
During the second half of the event, you'll have the opportunity to practice floating. Here's what that looks like:
1. Starting from the shallow end we'll gradually walk to your comfort.
2. You'll sit in a comfortable position to prepare yourself to lean back.
3. You'll tilt your head back and allow yourself to float. (we want you to feel comfortable in that floating position)
4. If you feeling brave, you can jump in the deep end, with your life jacket on.
