Good day, ladies! Take a step out of your comfort zone with other Queens and explore the unknown together!
REI will guide you on a tour into one of the hidden caves within this amazing park. The class will begin with a one and a half mile hike to the cave, then rappel and rope instruction will prepare you for a 40' rappel into the cave landing on the cave floor where you will begin your crawling exploration tour of the subterranean. The cave we chose offers a simple way to walk out, so no vertical ascending is necessary.

Mask for use in transit and within cave
Water (at least 2 liters)
Lunch and snacks
Sturdy, closed-toe shoes and durable, breathable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. No spandex, please

Knee pads - if you've them

Our group will be carpooling to Colorado Bend State Park. You can meet us at REI at 601 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78703
Meet at the REI van at the north end of the parking lot at 8:15 SHARP! Please do not be late. We'll be leaving at 9 AM SHARP!
1.Do you need to know how to rappel - NO
2. What if I'm afraid of tight spaces. This event is about accomplishing something you've never done. The guides will guide you at a pace that's comfortable for you. No rush, Queen!
3. Do I've to be physically fit - NO (however, you'll be crawling about 30 yards)
4. What about size - all shapes and sizes are encouraged to attend this event.
